'BRINGING THE VISION TO LIFE'

Following the adoption of an ambitous vision for Basingstoke and Deane to set the strategic direction up to 2026, partners from across the private, public and voluntary sectors came together to discuss the priorities for joint action

Over 50 delegates representing more than 30 different organisations considered the themes of:

• Focussing on young people
• Focussing on older people and ageing population
• Raising educational aspiration and attainment
• Encouraging involvement and developing potential
• Ensuring good design
• Fostering environmental responsibility

Participants heard from the Leader of the Council, on the strategic vision driving actions, from the community, young people and  business representatives on what bringing the vision to life means to them.

 The Chair of the Basingstoke Area Strategic Partnership, Stephen Sheedy threw out a challenge “ to every single partner, to contribute to the wider wellbeing of the borough and its communities.”
